What is involved in the training?

Our mindfulness-based training includes the following program elements:

  • Education on the effects of workplace conflict

  • Education on the physiological and psychological effects of stress

  • Acquisition of practical, mindfulness-based skills through experiential learning

  • Facilitated discussions that promote peer support and focus on your unique challenges

  • Resources to provide continued support for your practice and development

We can design programs that range from a one-hour introductory course to a multi-day workshop, the latter of which helps to deepen and integrate the learning.  The training is tailored to your needs.  The scope of the training depends on your objectives.  Is your organization just beginning to explore mindfulness and seeking a taste to better understand how it might be of benefit?  Or is your organization aiming to embed a culture of mindfulness in the organization?  Is mindfulness a strategy for increasing well-being that you seek to integrate in your health and wellness programming?  Or might wellness training be better incorporated as part of an ongoing series of lunchtime learning?

We work with you to craft customized training and workshops specifically adapted to your workplace context and designed to work with your specific needs.

We encourage you to call us for a complimentary consultation to discuss your needs and objectives.

What are the anticipated learning outcomes?

Participants will:

  • Gain a greater understanding of the physiological and psychological effects of stress and how it impacts employees in their working and personal lives

  • Acquire mindfulness-based skills that help you more effectively respond to stressors rather than mindlessly react to them

  • Improve their capacity to handle negative, unresourceful or ruminative thinking

  • Improve their capacity to manage difficult emotions

  • Improve their capacity to communicate with greater presence and thoughtfulness

  • Begin to cultivate a mindset that promotes greater kindness and compassion for themselves and others

What are the anticipated benefits to my organization?

Strong scientific evidence links mindfulness to improvement in three key areas of workplace functioning:

  • Overall well-being: for example, through reduced stress and anxiety and greater emotional stability and control

  • Work (and personal) relationships: for example, by improved communication, conflict management, empathy and compassion

  • Performance: for example, by improved ability to stay focused on a task without distraction and a greater commitment to and engagement with the organization

How long is the training?

Our programs are not a one-size-fits-all approach.  We tailor them to fit your needs and objectives.  Because we believe that any training in mindfulness is beneficial, we can design an introductory program that lasts as little as one hour.  For organizations that are able to work with the material more comprehensively, we can design multi-day workshops. The longer participants have to work with the material, the greater the ability to integrate the learning to promote long-term behavioral changes.

Where is the training offered?

We come to you.  Our training programs are provided at your worksite to enhance learning, integration and efficiency.

Do you provide one-on-one coaching?

Yes, we provide certified coaches who use an integrated approach to help you overcome obstacles to achieving work-related goals.  Coaching can help employees better face those challenges that are critical for meeting organizational demands and increasing productivity.   How?  We use an approach that helps you uncover the hidden roadblocks that hamper your ability to successfully work with the issue that has hampered your progress.  We marry this new insight to action so that you can consistently practice new ways of relating to your issue to promote integrated, sustained change.
